About Flickr Freak
I’m still working out how want to set up this blog and where I want to dump links and other bits of info. I thought I’d share a bit of background already nonetheless.
I’m relatively new to Flickr, only signing up for a free account in the autumn of 2005. It wasn’t until I won my pro account in June of 2006 with Inju’s Best Blog Forward meme over at Theory.IsTheReason that I became fully hooked.
It’s obvious that I’m a Flickr freak, but I don’t get carried away. I post within reason and I’m a member of only a couple of groups – so far.
I do love Flickr and everything that you can discover there by browsing, typing in the strangest keywords imaginable or by reading what the blogs have to say about the old blue & pink.
Still, it troubled me that I wasn’t able to find a good blog about Flickr. There may well be one and it may even be yours, but I decided on making my own.
So, what will you find here? I’m not a professional blogger, so don’t expect constant updates all through the day. I’m not TechMeme or anything. I need sleep, and my little outings down the pub and the occasional entry into the real world. But I still do spend an inordinate amount of time behind the PC.
From now on, then, you don’t need to scour the blogs, the Diggs, the feeds and the news yourself anymore. Instead you can tune in to Flickr Freak, subscribe and thus get a slice of what Flickr has to offer, delivered in your feed reader.
I also intend to highlight great pics I found myself, groups that got my attention or trends I seem to notice. Also, I’d like to put together the biggest and most comprehensive source for Flickr resources on the planet. But seeing the early and messy stages this blog is still in, I wouldn’t stay up for that.
Enough incoherent muttering, though. A few things still about myself. I’m a thirty-six year old editor from Belgium and I have a personal blog called No Dependencies /No Logo where you can read even more about me.
